Scaling and Polishing

Saliva contains minerals, which when attached to the teeth for a long time will harden and form tartar. The rough surfaces of tartar plaque make it easier for bacteria to stick to and often cause inflammation of the gums (gingivitis). One indication of this is bleeding of the gums, especially when brushing teeth. Tartar cleaning (scaling) should be routinely performed every 6 months to prevent gingivitis. Because if left unchecked, gingivitis will progress to periodontitis (periodontal inflammation) which one of the symptoms is tooth mobility. This treatment can not be done alone at home because it uses specialized tools and techniques.

Pit & Fissure Sealant

In some patients with deep pits and fissures, covering it with a sealant is needed to prevent caries.

Topical Application of Fluoride

Fluoride protects teeth from caries. Fluoride given on the treatment will be at high concentration, so it must be done by a dentist in a given period of time.

Crown and Bridge

Dental crowns are restorations that cover or cap teeth, restoring them to their natural size, shape, and color. A crown not only helps with appearance, but can strengthen a tooth as well. A fixed (non-removable) bridge is designed to replace teeth that have been lost. Missing teeth may need to be replaced for appearance, or to prevent or correct bite and gum problems related to shifting or stressed teeth. Dental crowns and bridges are made of porcelain, and may or may not have an inner layer of metal, while some are made of metal alone.

1. Partial Dentures Partial dentures have been used to replace groups of teeth or a few teeth scattered across the lower or upper jaw. There are a variety of removable partial dentures available depends on the case and each one comes with its own set of benefits and disadvantages. All partial dentures attach to remaining teeth and have a gum-colored portion meant to blend into the existing gum, with prosthetic teeth to replace the missing teeth. 2. Full Dentures Full dentures are similar to partial dentures in that they are prosthetic teeth and gums used to replace missing teeth. The main difference between full and partial dentures is that full dentures are a total replacement system for either upper or lower teeth and, in some cases, both.

Dental implants are surgical component of the replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth.
Tooth extractions are the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment. This treatment will be performed by a dental surgeon.
