Root Canal Treatment
The aim of root canal treatment (also known as endodontic treatment) is to save a
tooth that has been badly damaged due to decay or injury. Infection or inflammation
of the nerve can be caused by breakdown of a filling or crown, deep decay, trauma,
crack or chip in the tooth, extreme wear.
The root canals carefully cleaned, enlarged and shaped. Anti-inflammatory and
anti-bacterial medicine are placed in the canals and then the canals are filled and a
restoration is placed to seal the tooth from re-infection. So the non pathogenic tooth
can be maintaned in the oral cavity.
