Facial Implant Augmentation: Restoring Facial Structure

The Ultimo Facial Framework™
by dr. Enrina Diah, Sp.BP-RE, KKF & dr. Grace Boaz, Sp.BP-RE

Facial implant augmentation restores the structure and projection the facial framework lacks — not by adding volume, but by supporting it from within. At Ultimo Clinic, chin, cheek, and paranasal implants balance the profile, define contour, and soften deep nasolabial folds at their source. Performed by dr. Enrina Diah and dr. Grace Boaz.

DIAGNOSIS FIRST

Three Axes of Facial Rejuvenation

The face ages along three distinct processes — and each calls for a different solution. Identifying the dominant axis is the first step to a natural result.

DESCENT
Sagging

Treated by lifting, such as a Deep Plane Facelift.

DEFLATION
Volume Loss

Treated by fat transfer — adding soft-tissue volume.

STRUCTURE
Weak Projection

Treated by implants — supporting the facial framework. The focus of this page.

THREE AREAS

Three Areas, One Principle

A silicone implant is placed over the bone through an incision inside the mouth — adding projection to under-defined areas, with no scar on the skin.

1
Chin Augmentation
The Ultimo Profile Harmony™

A chin implant adds projection and defines the jawline and profile.

2
Cheek Augmentation
The Ultimo Cheekbone Architecture™

A cheek implant restores cheekbone projection and midface structure.

3
Paranasal Implant
The Ultimo Smile-Line Support™

A paranasal implant supports the area beside the nose to soften deep nasolabial folds.

IMPLANT OR YOUR OWN TISSUE?

An implant (alloplastic) adds stable, long-lasting structural projection, and can be removed if needed. For soft-tissue volume, the alternative is facial fat transfer (your own fat). The two are often complementary — assessed at consultation.

AT A GLANCE

What to Expect

Technique
The implant is placed over the bone, generally through an incision inside the mouth (no external scar).
Material
Silicone.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia or with sedation (no general anesthesia).
Recovery
Swelling subsides gradually; most social activity can resume within 1–2 weeks.
Result
The implant is long-lasting and removable; projection is maintained long-term.
FREQUENTLY ASKED

Frequently Asked Questions

Are facial implants better than filler or fat transfer?

An implant adds stable, long-lasting structural projection to the facial framework, whereas filler is temporary and fat transfer adds soft-tissue volume. When the issue is a lack of bone projection, an implant addresses the cause directly.

Modern facial implants are made from long-established surgical materials and are placed over the bone. One advantage is that they can be removed or adjusted if needed.

Chin, cheek, and paranasal implants are generally placed through incisions inside the mouth, so they leave no scars on the facial skin.

“A balanced face begins with its framework. When the projection of the chin, cheeks, and area around the nose is in harmony, the whole face looks more harmonious.”
